Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (2024)

Fire Emblem Engage allows players to make use of a Gacha-esque system to create Bond Rings, powerful equipable items that represent characters from previous Fire Emblem games that grant stat boosts and sometimes an extra skill.

What are Bond Rings?

Creating and equipping Bond Rings in Fire Emblem Engage can greatly strengthen units and provide additional tactical benefits in combat, despite often being overshadowed by the more powerful Emblem Rings. This guide will break down some of the best Bond Rings available. Since Rings come in various different ranks and higher ranks have considerably better stats, this guide will always refer to the S-Rank version of a given Ring. Some entries feature multiple rings with related effects to offer a variety of similar strategy suggestions.

Navarre & Alm

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (1)

Navarre's Bond Ring supplies players with excellent stat boosts for a sword-wielding unit whilst also providing a +10 crit buff to the equipped unit, making this ring a fantastic fit for any class that predominantly wields a sword, most notably the Swordmaster. +2 Dexterity, +1 Speed, and +1 Luck help the unit hit more accurately, crit more often, double attack for more damage, and slightly reduce the chances of getting hit with a crit themselves.

As mentioned earlier, this Ring has the skill "Deadly Blade," boosting Crit by 10 while the equipped Unit is wielding a Sword. This specifically makes the Ring highly beneficial to sword-wielding units. Navarre's Ring can be acquired from Marth's Bond Ring pool.

Meanwhile, players looking for a more defense-oriented boost for their Sword units should look for Alm's Ring, obtained from Celica. This ring grants +2 Strength, +1 Dexterity, and +1 Defense, helping them to reliably hit harder while still improving hit and crit.

It also comes with the "Windsweep" Skill, which adds a chance for the foe to fail to counterattack when the unit is attacking with a Fire Emblem Engage sword. This chance is a percentage equal to the equipped unit's luck stat.

Sothe

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (2)

Sothe can be a great help on units with high Dexterity, especially units like Thieves and Archers, who have some range to work with and can be obtained from Micaiah.

Sothe's Ring grants +2 Dexterity, +1 Speed, and +1 Luck, making it ideal for boosting hit and crit, dodging attacks and doubling more effectively, and avoiding enemy crits. It also comes with the tremendously useful skill "Bane," which can reduce a foe's HP to 1.

While this skill isn't effective against bosses and certain other enemy units, it can be used to eliminate many units that could otherwise pose a huge threat and has a trigger percentage equal to half the equipped unit's dexterity.

Olwen & Lilina

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (3)

A great Ring for making the Thunder spell more effective is Olwen's Ring, obtained from Leif. It grants +2 Speed, +1 Magic, and +1 Luck, making the unit better at landing double hits and boosting magic damage.

"Dire Thunder" allows Thunder magic to strike twice, removing its biggest drawback and making it much more effective (Soren's Ring can do the same to Wind if players are facing flying foes).

Lilina's Ring is also highly useful to mage units and can be obtained from Roy. When using the spells Fire, Elfire, and/or Bolganone, this boosts the damage of those spells by 20% whilst also granting a constant +2 Magic, +1 Luck, and +1 Resistance.

Elincea

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (4)

For players looking to maximize EXP efficiency and avoid paying the "Jagen Tax," Elincia is a fantastic choice. This Ring grants +2 Luck, +1 Strength, and +1 Speed.

The most important detail, however, is the S-Rank Skill "Mercy," which prevents the unit from dealing fatal blows to enemy units, instead leaving them on 1 HP. This can be excellent for feeding kills to other units to level them up more efficiently and works well on powerful early units like Vander.

Mia & Eliwood

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (5)

Mia's Bond Ring, one of the Rings associated with Ike, grants +2 Speed, 1 Dexterity, and +1 Luck. It grants the "Shove" skill, which allows the equipped unit to push an ally who has a lower Build stat than them forward one space, allowing for extended movement and/or easy repositioning of allies when needed.

Eliwood's Bond Ring is associated with Lyn, who grants +2 Luck, +1 Strength, and +1 Dexterity. He also gives the equipped unit the "Draw Back" skill, allowing them to reposition another unit by moving that unit and themself back one space. This is another Bond Ring that shines as a repositioning tool, grabbing allies and moving them into a safer spot after an attack.

Claude

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (6)

Claude's Bond Ring, acquired from Byleth, grants +2 Dexterity, 1 Speed, and +1 Luck to help with being upside down at all times. It also grants the "Wind God" skill, boosting bow range by 1 when the equipped unit's HP is 100%, allowing Archers to achieve tremendous range and pick off targets more easily.

Innes

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (7)

A Bond Ring that can be obtained from Eirika, Innes' Bond Ring grants +2 Speed, +1 Luck, and +1 Dexterity. It also grants the "Sure Strike" skill, which adds a chance for each attack to be a guaranteed hit. The percentage chance of this happening is equal to the equipped unit's dexterity.

Xander

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (8)

One of Corrin's Bond Rings, Xander's Ring boosts damage dealt by 2 and reduces damage taken by 2 when the foe's health is full, making it an excellent defensive ring that can also boost attack. It also grants +2 Defense, +1 Luck, and +1 Strength.

Ryoma

Fire Emblem Engage: Best Bond Rings (9)

Ryoma's Ring, also acquired via Corrin, grants the "Bushido" skill. This boosts crit by 10 and damage dealt by 2 while reducing damage received by 2. This effect only triggers when the unit's level is equal to or less than the enemy's level, but this is fairly easy to achieve and won't be an issue in the late-game anyway. It also grants +2 Speed, +1 Strength, and +1 Luck.

Fire Emblem Engage is available for Nintendo Switch.
