New York City is in the midst of fashion week, and between the looks from the streets of the city to the designer-clad catwalks, there's a lot to be excited about this year. As a New York City-based travel writer, I especially love this time of year as it's an opportunity to see what’s in store for this season’s fashion — and of course, to get inspiration for my vacation wardrobe. And while not all of the runway looks are practical for travel, that's not to say that you can't incorporate that same level of grandeur and inventiveness into your own closet. In fact, I’ve curated a list of some of the best NYFW styles that I’d actually pack in my suitcase, and that you should consider shopping for your next trip.
Taking a cue from the coquette wardrobe staples from the Sandy Liang show to elevated workwear spotted at the Tommy Hilfiger show, this roundup features high fashion-inspired pieces from across the web that travelers can (and should) be channeling on their next getaway. From eye-catching bolds with the Astr the Label Floral Corset Satin Dress to trousers that you’ll want to wear everywhere, these picks ensure that you'll be comfortable, look put-together, and have an outfit for any occasion on your itinerary. Keep reading to explore the top NYFW Fall-Winter 2024 looks that will make your next vacation 'fit suited for any runway.

Workwear Style
It's no secret that workwear-inspired fashion is a prominent winter trend this year, but after taking one look at the Tommy Hilfiger Fall-Winter 2024 show, it’s clear that it's here to stay. Fortunately, the look is quite easy to replicate on a day-to-day basis, especially for travel. Equip your wardrobe with sleek trousers, structured blouses, and confident blazers, and you're set. I spotted some especially great picks, starting with a sophisticated button down from the collection and the best-selling (and often sold out) Spanx Perfect Pants. With these pieces, you can confidently go from the office to the airport, and then right out to dinner when you get to your destination.

Coquette Wardrobe Staples
Sandy Liang is the queen of embodying playful girlhood into her styles, and from her collaboration with Baggu that sold out twice to her seemingly single handedly pioneering the year of the bow, her FW24 collection is nothing short of flirty, fun pieces. We’re talking fuzzy skirts, mini handbags, understated bows, neutral basics (with the occasional pop of red), and long-sleeve A-line dresses that are incredibly easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. I found a few ways to replicate these looks, starting with quintessential long-sleeve tops like this one from Uniqlo, adorable statement flats from Vivaia, and a glamorous hoodie from Aritzia that exudes the same playfulness seen on the runway.

Bold Statement Pieces
Of all of the NYFW FW24 shows, probably one of my favorites was Kim Shui’s line of bold dresses, skirts, and tops that played with different types of material, prints, and cuts. The brand is known for its ornate, eye-catching designs (including this iconic Lace Butterfly Dress), and this latest show was nothing short of stunning; top themes were silk fabrics, snakeskin prints, and bright florals. As a fashion savvy traveler with an affinity for bold hues, I absolutely gushed over everything in this collection. And while I love casual wardrobe staples, it’s the bright pieces that turn heads that I look to when curating the perfect vacation outfit. Some of the pieces from the collection are already available for pre-order, including this Red Wine Snakeskin Coat and Magenta Silk Blouse, but if you can’t wait to get your hands on them (or don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend), I’ve tracked down a few pieces to replicate these looks, for less.
- Astr the Label Floral Corset Satin Dress, $45 (originally $99)
- M.M. La Fleur The Tatem Top, $265
- Pausus Satin Button Down Top, $28
- Modegal Women's Satin Midi Skirt, $28 with on-site coupon (originally $34)
- Anthropologie Conditions Apply Elva Slip Midi Dress, $128
- Cole Haan Women’s Lux Snakeskin Embossed Mules, $180
- Topshop Snakeskin Print Faux Leather Pants, $48 (originally $79)
- Floerns Women's Snakeskin Fitted Mock Turtleneck, $22
Copper All Day
Luxury designer Christian Siriano dubbed ‘Liquid Glamour’ the theme of his FW24 runway collection, which was accompanied by jaw-dropping, copper-hued pieces. I’ve never personally felt so strongly about copper garments until I saw the looks, and now I want everything in my closet to scream "liquid glamour." If you also want your wardrobe to exude this kind of opulence, I’ve found similar pieces, including this on-sale embellished tank at Anthropologie and ASOS satin corset that’ll immediately grant you "best-dressed" status at the resort.

- Pleione Satin Long-Sleeve in Copper, $30 (originally $68)
- Dokotoo Women's Oversized Crewneck Sweater, $33 (originally $50)
- Abercrombie Giselle Pleat Release Midi Dress in Paprika, $100 (originally $130)
- Adidas Originals Women's Hypersleek Sneakers, $99 (originally $110)
- Hoka Women's Mach 5 Running Sneakers, $112 (originally $140)
